My apologies to Tyler Jones, to Reel Big Fish, and to fans across the board. When I first thought of this comic, I was like "Dude, that's a good one!" But now that it's been drawn, it just seems really mean. It's just an unprovoked attack on some guy I don't know. That's not cool. The only agruement I can make is if you watch the dvd, you see Tyler being all sloppy and drunk and whatnot. Then to hear Aaron make the comment about Tavis... well that's not cool either, but I don't know the details of what went down between them so I guess it's not my place to say. Okay I'm tired. I'm gonna go get some sleep before I have to go to work. And I guess I should mention that Hoss and I hit up Reel Big Fish's Coast to Coast Roast last week. It was superb. Except for pavilion seating and security. But I'll let Hoss tell you about all that. Later. off the train, |

Yay for Reel Big Fish! They put on such a good show. Boston and I recently went to see the Coast to Coast Roast and it was so totally bitchin', just like rock 'n roll. Let me now analyze each band individually. Suburban Legends: Ok, I went in only having heard their cd, Rumpshaker. I was thinking yeah decent band gonna be ok. Boston was hyping these guys up so much. She was all like, "They are truly gods among men." And of course I responded with, "Eh." But alas, she was right, their angelic voices, totally bitchin choreography, and not to mention flying kicks and back flips. Oh, I shall never doubt her again, until she talks next at least. Lucky Boys Confusion: I remember seeing these lads when they were young and afraid of the audience. The lead singer would often stare straight up as he sang, completely avoiding eye contact with us. This time he managed to look at us but I didn't care, because they played nothing I cared about and called us all fuckers. Needless to say they became background music as I conversed with my fellow concert goers. Catch 22: No words can describe how good they were, so I will just say, go see them if you haven't already. Rx Bandits: From what I caught between my little sleep spells, these guys were pretty decent. I apologize now Rx Bandits, I was there on three hours sleep and had just worked a 5am shift. I was upset that they didn't play any of their old stuff that I would have recognized, but still they were decent. Reel Big Fish: See Catch 22 but add even more totally rockin in there somewhere. All in all it was a good concert with the exception of a few minor craptacular things. One, it was at Freedom Hill Amphitheater, which is not a good place or a show where people want to dance. Namely because the chairs get in the way in the pavilion area, and the hill is kinda steep. Also the security guards are nazis. I kid you not. They wouldn't let you do anything but sit in place for the most part. If you wanted to dance they approached you and said, "Vhere are your papers?" to which you would respond, "I have no papers." Then off course you were told to sit down. Man nazis may make movies better, but they sure as hell don't make concerts better. Later. HOSS |
