Hey kids, what's up Dicky? We went and saw Less Than Jake this weekend up in Grand Rapids. For those of you who don't know, Grand Rapids is about a three hour drive from us. I'll let Hoss give you the full review because it was his idea to go. I will say this though. Less Than Jake was the only good thing about the show. It got to the point where Hoss was curled up in a ball on the floor with his hands over his ears mumbling "Less than Jake will save me... Less than Jake will save me..." Not a whole lot going on right now. Mostly I'm just pissed that this site doesn't get updated more. Like I keep sending stuff to my web people and they just ignore me. What the fuck is that about? In fact, I have no idea when this comic is going to get posted. So I guess I'm kinda like the rest of you who randomly check this site to see if it's been updated. How much we have in common... Hey, let me help you plan your weekend. Stereo 7 is coming to Detroit this Friday (the 30th). They're playing with After School Special, Skapocalypse and The Phonetics. It's at Idle Kids and it's only six bucks. Really, how can you go wrong? So come support your local ska scene. Starts at six. But wait, there's more! If you absolutely can't make the Detroit show (and there's really no reason to), then come on down to the Happy Badger on Saturday. The Happy Badger is in Toledo and this show is only gonna cost a mere two bucks! I don't know all the bands playing, but Stereo is gonna be there and so will we. Um... I think that's everything. Later. off the train, |

Have you ever had one of those days where everything just seems to suck? Well, we here at 21deadmonkeys had one of those days this past Sunday. For starters, the venue was a three hour drive from where we live. That did not rock! So I am awoken around 10:30am by Boston, who is saying something to the effect of, "Hey jackass, the show starts at one and it's a three hour drive." To which I respond, "(insert unintelligible mumbling here)." Well needless to say we finally got on the road around noon. To pass the time I read Boston and Baron Von Drewsuf a story. I highly suggest all of you out there read the series of books entitled, "A Series of Unfortunate Events". These books totally rock (unlike most of this day). Then like a streaker being chased by the police across a soccer field we made haste to Grand Rapids. Oh what fools we were, all that lie ahead was pain and suffering. So we arrive on the scene around two and we were all worried that we had missed some good bands. Low and behold, we had arrived just in time to see The Acadamy. Needless to say, having already suffered through their set once in our lives, we decided to go get something to eat instead. Now it amazes me that in a city as big as GR there isn't a fast food place or anything inexspensive to eat for miles. Having only seen upscale snooty places and a seafood place we opted for T.G.I.Friday's where when all you want is an appetizer they will push the entrees on you all night long. Not wanting to see what else Grand Rapids didn't have to offer we merrily made our way back to the show hoping for Less Than Jake to be on soon. I don't think we could have been more wrong. LTJ was not slated to play until eighty-fourty and it was only four. Only four hours of really crappy emo bands that all sounded the same. At one point in time my face was melting off it was so bad. I think for most of Senses Fail I was curled up with my hands over my ears to stop the hurting. And then when I thought it could get no worse, I was saved by the GREATEST BAND EVER. Less Than Jake descended upon the scene to awake me from my near catatonic state. Then with a set list like that of mighty Thor's hammer, Mjilnor, they did lay waste to all that was bad and sucky that day. I have never in my entire life wanted to see a band be on stage as I did that day. Less Than Jake saved me from what was in my opinion one of the worst days ever. Thank you Less Than Jake, and thank you guys for reading this really pointless story. HOSS |

OW! OW! OW! That's the sound of Boston kicking my ass because I've not kept the site updated. Bad Bad Bad Serena! Ya know, I sometimes think Boston thinks all I do is push a button and her page magically appears. Actually, my goal is to make like that, just it takes some work to get it that way. For now, it requires a bit of effort as I try and tweak it and make the page act all happy. Honestly I did update the shows of interest page, but for some reason it didn't save so the old page got loaded again. So here is the new shows of interest page, with all the updates. Hopefully someday we can have a nice little scroll box on the front page that will contain all that info. Likewise, I must apologize for the quality of the comic of late. I'm doing my best but unfortunately I have a cheap crappy scanner that hates anything that gets scanned into it. And right now I'm using Paint Shop Pro 8. While I loved 7, 8 is taking some getting used to. They got rid of resample and now I'm forced to use the less desirable resize. I may give into Boston's dark temptations and use Photoshop. Finally, to add to Hoss's story: t'was very amusing, as I was sitting in the kitchen watching Boston trying to get Hoss to go. And yeah, Series of Unfortunate Events totally rocks. And to so totally brag, I read all ten books so far, while the others are only on book 5. Of course I read them alone, while the others have been reading them together. And I guess Hoss and the Baron do voices. I now feel deprieved. serena | |||
