What's up Dicky? So the band being referenced in today's comic is Bad Larry. They really do have a song called "Sarah Hates Less Than Jake" although it really doesn't mention Sarah by name or her hating LTJ. But let me tell you a little story about Bad Larry. See, I was just minding my own business going about life as usual, la, la, la. I went to check the PO box (cuz I do that sometimes). There were a couple of letters (always nice) and a package envelope that looked like it might contain a cd of some sort. Hmm... did I order a cd and have it delivered to my PO box? No, I don't believe that I did. Well, I opened it up to find some stickers, buttons and what appeared to be a cd, all for a band named Bad Larry. Upon reading the note inside though, this was not a cd, but rather a fancy drink coaster that came in its own carrying case. How lucky was I to receive such a gift as my Mountain Dew martinis had been leaving nasty rings on my tables. I went home promptly to put my new gift to use. I poured myself a drink, put on my Mr. Show dvd (highly recommended) and pretended that I was I going to draw a comic. I must say that the coaster was quite nice and worked pretty well. Since I don't use coasters I don't really have anything to compare it to. Then I sat down and tried to draw. Since I come from the school of procrastinators, I found my mind wandering. Eventually I was sitting down and examining the case for the coaster. It really did appear to be a case for a cd. I began to wonder if Bad Larry had lied to me about sending me a coaster and had in fact sent me a cd. Or maybe there was a mix up between members and they had intended to send me a drink coaster and someone had sent me a cd by mistake. Well, to find out, I put my newly acquired coaster in the cd player and yes, music did in fact play. And not only did music play, but it was catchy music. I soon became quite addicted to Bad Larry. I played them whenever I was in my car. I played them at work. I played them whenever I was on the computer. If I had played them when I drew, there would be no more 21deadmonkeys because I would just end up dancing around my room to them. I can't figure out what makes them so great to me. I think most people would just describe them as catchy ska pop or something, but I think it's something more. I think they've figured out a way to coat their cds in crack, so that when the cd is played, the crack somehow travels through the air to one's ears. I can't really prove this, but that's my theory. Anyways, I'm now at the point where I don't trust Bad Larry. I mean, is that really supposed to be a coaster? If so, why didn't they mention the great music on it? Or did they just lie and it's not really a coaster at all? And I didn't even ask for the cd/coaster in the first place! Well, Bad Larry, I hope your happy. (ps... you should come play a show in the southeast Michigan area... that would rock)

And if any of you are asking "So, are you gonna do a comic for every band that sends you a cd or a coaster?" Honestly, I don't know, but if I did what's so wrong with that? If somebody is cool enough to send me a free cd, why not mention them on this site? Does it really hurt you that bad? That's one of the cool things about having this site. No, I'm not talking about free cds (although that is truly awesome). I mean all the people that email me and say "Hey, check out this band!" For the record, I do go listen to every band that people tell me about. Sometimes I find some really good stuff and other times I wonder what the hell people are on to enjoy this crap. Anyways, I was going somewhere with this, but I forget where. Have fun today. Do something stupid. Hugs.
