may your music break my ear drums and your pavement scrape my knees

Man, this comic almost totally sums up my summer. Hoss said that after seeing Less Than Jake, nothing really caught his interest. If anything, I think he's bummed that we only went to one of their shows. I can't remember the last time we didn't make a trip to go see them. I even said something to Vinnie about it at the show. I don't think he cared but I apologized that we were only seeing once on this tour. I also apologized for putting up some of their songs for people to download. He said he didn't care about that either. I don't really know how to read Vinnie knowing that he's a member of the Dirty Filthy Liars club. In all honesty he probably has no idea who I am or why I was talking to him.

Shout It Loud 2 was just okay this year. They didn't have the great line up of last year but I still went in thinking I'd get a good show. It was a good show because lots of people were there. It's almost like I just go to shows to socialize. Hmmm.... Let's see if I can remember anything from this show. Well, it started with Suburban Legends and they were fun. I jumped around and acted like an idiot for a couple of their songs. I think The Rick started a conga line at one point and it did really well. They played a song from the Lion King and I grabbed Hoss and screamed "Under the sea" in his face. After them was Big D and the Kids table. They sucked. Seriously. I'm a fan of Big D and even drove through a snowstorm to see 'em last December. I can honestly say they played with no energy, the sound was horrible, and they didn't even play "LAX." What the fuck? How do you not play that song? I ended up wandering out to the lobby area for the LTJ meet and greet. So weird that they were doing a meet and greet. Goldfinger played. For as old as they look, they did pretty good. Not as good as I remember them back in the day, but enjoyable. They played Mable and let fans up on stage like they normally do. At this point, I somehow ended up against the barricade. I figured I might as well stay there because I had no intention of dancing during their set. The mistakes we make. I ended up having the prime spot for the Twinkie being eaten out of Darren's ass stunt. Lovely times. I kept my spot for LTJ. For the past couple of years, damn near every time I've seen them, I've been against the barricade in front of Roger with my friends, Gena and Lauren. Well, Lauren got married and moved to California. Then Gena didn't come to this show because she had to work. So I was there by myself and it felt weird. I mean, I made friends with the people around me but it was still weird. Less Than Jake played an awesome set which included "Scott Farcas Takes It On The Chin." Chris said that some girl in the lobby had requested it and people were asking me afterwards if that was me. No it wasn't but it's what I would've requested. So yeah, good set but it's probably the last time that I'll find myself a place at the front of the stage. See you kids in the pit!
