What's up Dicky? Did any of you catch Stereo 7 when they were in town this past weekend? I couldn't make it to the Friday show in Detroit cuz the girl who said she'd work for me bailed. Not cool. However, I did make it down to the Happy Badger on Saturday just in time. You know, I wasn't sure about supporting a band I'd never seen live. Like what if they totally suck and this whole time I've been encouraging people to go see 'em... Luckily that's not the case. Stereo 7 rock! They rock so hard that they blew the PA out! There was a ho-down and hootenanny and moshing and hula dancing and just plain skanking. Now that I've seen them live, I can honestly say you're a fool if you don't go to one of their shows. Plus they've got a ton of 21deadmonkeys stickers. Good times, great people.

Then on Sunday, Catch 22 was supposed to play down in Toledo. I was really excited cuz I love Catch 22. So I show up to the venue and the parking lot is completely empty save one car. I pull up and the guy gets out and is like "You here for the show?" And I'm like "Yeah, where is everybody?" Then he goes on to explain that the show got canceled. Why you ask? Well the venue has two rooms. One is a little teeny bar and that's where most bands play. In fact that's where Catch was going to play. Then they also have this huge 2,000 capacity airplane hangar room. Well Catch was supposed to play the little room but they couldn't. I forget why, but something was wrong and they couldn't. So they were offered the big room. They turned that down and left town. What the fuck? Why not play the big room? I've yet to email them to ask them why, but I hope they have a good reason.
