So I told my brother, Hoss, that the Living End were coming to town. In fact, they were playing three shows within driving distance. This is a big deal, cuz normally they skip the midwest (bastard aussies). And Hoss said, "Huzzah!" That's pirate talk for "Hooray!" Then I threw in the kicker, they were just opening for Good Charlotte. "DAMN YOU ALL!!!" said Hoss. That's pirate talk for "DAMN YOU ALL!!!" We ended up not going to any of the shows. We did ponder though why good bands open for bad bands. Like Hoss is a major Less Than Jake fan. He's got tons of that collector nerd stuff that they always make. When they opened for Good Charlotte and New Found Glory, he locked himself in his room and cried for seven days straight. That's right folks, he turned emo. Luckily, Hoss is now back to being a pirate. Unlucky for small coastal villages and ports and schooners everywhere.
