Less Than Jake announce one time only poster show
Less Than Jake has announced a show in Orlando on Saturday, August 11 as part of its 20th Anniversary tour. Continuing a year-long celebration of two decades as a band, this Orlando date will be accompanied by a one-time-only limited poster show at The Beacham Theater. Tickets are available now at Less Than Jake's website.

The Orlando show is part of a weekend of Florida dates for the band. It will play in Jacksonville on Friday, August 10. Two back-to-back performances in the band's hometown of Gainesville at the end of the month will cap a busy August for Less Than Jake, during which they will hop over to the UK to play the Reading and Leeds festivals. All of the band's tour dates can be seen at the end of this press release.

"Less Than Jake has always prided itself on thinking forward in terms of merchandise," drummer Vinnie Fiorello says. "From vinyl toys to Evo Kid piggy banks to cheese- and birthday cake-shaped records, we've always tried to give our fans as many unique products as possible to capture the material part of being a fan. Doing the poster show is an extension of our collective thought. It's special to us to be able to do something like this for our 20th anniversary."

The poster show will feature 20 different limited-edition screenprinted pieces of art celebrating Less Than Jake, an event made possible by Orlando natives Charlie Bender and Brad Palkevich. Bender and Palkevich own Enemy Ink, an arts- and music-focused custom screenprinting shop in Orlando, and they also head up local punk rock band The Attack. Bender sings and Palkevich plays guitar.

Enemy Ink and Less Than Jake have invited a variety of artists to the poster show. "From influential designers such as Horsebites, who has helped bring notoriety and an identifiable tone to much of the Florida music and print worlds, to artists like Joe Simko, who has contributed to ska and punk by creating artwork for The Vans Warped Tour on several occasions, we have a great group of artists gathered for this event," Palkevich says.

Most of the 20 different designs will be hand-signed and numbered by the artists that created them. The posters will be limited to only 30 units of each design available at the Orlando event. Fans will be able to purchase posters beginning at the 6 p.m. door time and continuing throughout the night. Additional limited quantities of the posters will be available online for fans of the band who want to own a part of Less Than Jake history but don't live in Florida.

The Orlando show will be supported by The Attack and Topshelf Records' You Blew It! Best of Wisecracker
Germany's Wisecracker have just a released 24 song best of album. Here's what their facebook had to say.

Quick and easy: WISECRACKER from Hanover and Stockholm have put together for us 24 of their favorite songs in English, Spanish, and German. The order of tracks is based on the live repertoire of this 7-piece Ska Punk band. One actually feels like being in the middle of one of their (in)famous and extremely sweaty gigs. With the wink of an eye we remember such legendary shows as the sold-out Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen, Germany, before a crowd of 5,000 fans supporting SKA-P, SONDASCHULE, and RANTANPLAN, the sold-out SKA WARS Festival at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles, CA, and all the sold-out (album release) shows at their favorite club, i.e. the Bei Chez Heinz in Hanover, Germany. Of course, all their hits are included, e.g. “Ambition”, “Whatcha Want?”, “Michael”, and of course the beer-song… Just like MAD CADDIES plus a little bit of Latin American flavor. WISECRACKER was also able to discover the original recordings of their first full-length album and now finally the all-time classics “Muckerpolizei”, “Wreck-Time”, and “H-Town is calling” are once again available for purchase. The most famous cover-songs should not be missing, either, such as “¿Porque te vas?” and their incredible version of METALLICA’s “Master of Puppets”.

They'll be coming to the U.S. and Mexico for a couple weeks if you want to check them out.

Comments
Just quick update - many may have noticed that commenting was disabled. Boston brought that to my attention and I shrugged it off saying ..."they have to register..." (since I recently set it up to deter some spam bots.) Well, I realized there was no link to register...which is why no one could comment.

In conclusion, if you hit comments you will now see a "register?" link. Please click that, register, and proceed to post comments to any news article you like. Registration is required for the time being.

My bad.
