Happy Badger show
On a Thursday night we piled in to the car and made last minute phone calls to each other and headed down to the Happy Badger. This is a very interesting venue down in Toledo, Ohio. It is a really large building with a stage, but it also has a place to eat and buy like hippie things and all sorts of weird crap. It's has a part sectioned off that I think has books in it, I am not really sure. I had only been there twice before and didn't really walk around. Tonight we were there to see Uncertain 5, and others. I think the band they wanted to see was not there and falsely advertised to be there. The first band we saw there was called The Harmonics. They were from Boston. I liked them but their style was very different. If I were to live in the '50's and take my sweetheart to the 'Neptune's Kingdom' 1953 Prom, then they would be the band playing our music and we would slow dance the night away. But it wasn't 1953 or Prom night so we couldn't really do anything but stand and watch, and possibly fall asleep from its slowness. The next GUY was Riki Rocksteady. He was very reggae, but not. He did all the cool things associated with Reggae that have names (I guess) and was very cool. Webmasterbri was not pleased, but Boston was. I will remain neutral and say that he reminded me of other bands I like. The last band was Uncertain 5. I liked them but they seemed to be very confused. All the music they played was ska-esque, but the vocals were most decidedly hardcore. They didn't really mix. One needs to be changed, eventually. Although it was interesting to hear somthing like that. Only true geniuses could make what they have done work. And no offense to the Uncertain 5 but they have quite a ways to go.
