The Suicide Machines Concert on December 30th, 2004
Boston and I have had the pleasure of seeing the Suicide Machines together many times. One of my favorite bands to see live and so far they have yet to disappoint. This time we saw them at Clutch Cargos, An old church turned into a club, in the city of Art Haas, Pontiac. When we arrived at the show the first opening band was already playing. I don't really know if they were any good. We only caught the last song and the way they were pushing with the bands It may have been the second song of a two song set. I think they were called HomeTown, but it doesn't really matter. The next band really sucked. As I am writing this I am trying to remember their name but I am having trouble. It's better that you don't know because you might be tempted to see for yourself how bad they were and I can't let you do that. They played for like a half hour and most of it was talking or standing. The crowd booed them and the band even told us(or the jerks rather) we sucked. I didn't think it was very nice of them but I was ignoring them. I still can't believe that farce was aloud on stage for so long considering that the next band only played for fifteen minutes. Speaking of, the next band was Bang Bang. These guys were awesome and I was looking forward to seeing them as I had seen them before and had liked them then. They played their whole ep/lp/whatever and then jetted. Just when i was getting into them they were gone and it made me sad. I was even more disheartened when, after the show, I saw this guy buy this really cool shirt that they had. When I asked the merch guy about it he acted like the shirt never existed. Only had youth small. Who the hell only buys youth small. Such insolence. The next band was the Suicide Machines and I enjoyed them immensely. I even went into the circle pit. (something I don't normally do because I am afraid if I mosh I will destroy people and I don't like to skank.) I casually sauntered around the pit while little people scurried to and fro underneath me. It was very exciting. Suicide Machines played for quite awhile and played most of the usuals although it seemed as though they crammed them all in the beginning. I had fun though. If you haven't seen them live I definitely suggest it and if you have you already know of their awesomeness.
